Public safety is about more than policing; it is building trust
As Mayor, and in coordination with the Police Chief, we have been dedicated to reimagining the way we think about public safety in our community. From technology upgrades and body worn cameras to diversifying our ranks Lansdale is building a police department that will be more accountable, more proactive, and more dependable than ever before.
“In 2018, Mayor Herbert began his term with a sense of urgency in helping LPD recover from what was a significant staffing shortage in the department due to three retirements in 2017.
Mayor Herbert was quick to learn, and understand, the innerworkings of the agency and his unwavering support during his term has allowed LPD to modernize our organization without compromising the police/community relationship we so desperately need during these difficult times.
